Tips on How to Prepare for a Rock Star-Themed Party

>> Thursday, January 30, 2014

Everybody wants to be a rock star, right? And kids, oh kids! Many of them like to act like their favorite stars and it is not surprising that rock star-themed birthday parties are the “in” thing right now.

Here are some tips that you might want to follow when preparing for a rockin’ rock star birthday party:

INVITATIONS. Invitations set the mood of the event that is to happen. It lets your guests become aware of the theme for your party. There are many choices for a Rock Star Party invitation. You can:  Burn a CD of the celebrant’s favorite music and for the cover, customize it with his picture and the party details. This can double as a party souvenir too. You can also print out a ticket to a Rock Concert (a.k.a. party) featuring your child (a.k.a. celebrant) as the performer.

PARTY FAVORS. Set up tables or booths for temporary tattoos and hair styling. Customized guitar straps and picks with the celebrants name and theme as favors can serve as nice fun favors.

DECORATIONS. For a really rocking Rock Star Party, roll out the red carpet for the special guests. There must be a stage adorned with balloons, streamers and posters. This will be made more rock-star like if you add holiday lights. And do not forget the smoke machine!

BIRTHDAY CAKE. A variety of choices is available to you for a Rock Star party when it comes to birthday cakes. You can order a cake shaped like a microphone, a guitar or even a guitar pick. Or you can opt for one that has your child’s photo with her dressed as a Rock star.

The Little Prince Souvenirs Made of Polymer Clay

>> Tuesday, January 7, 2014

Last month was my online shop’s second Christmas. It was the busiest month for me but unlike last year, I did not accept every commissioned order that came my way. I learned from the previous year that I value my rest and peace of mind and provide quality handmade products so I chose not to bite off more than what I can chew. In that way, my clients get to enjoy a positive buying experience. Now that’s a win-win situation if you ask me.

One of the many commissioned orders that I happily worked on last month was a batch of The Little Prince baptismal souvenirs made of polymer clay. Here are my finished masterpieces:

the little prince polymer clayBaby Jaci is a close friend’s new boy. He was baptized last month and her mom commissioned me to create his souvenirs based on the theme. The theme was inspired by a friend’s nephew’s baptism. I enjoyed creating these and instead of chaining them on key chains, I attached them to a short ball chain. It is my first time to make a finish like this and I like it. But truth to be told, I ran out of key chains and had to resort to using ball chains. LOL!
