The Fun of Themed Bathrooms

>> Monday, October 29, 2012

Bath time can be a struggle if your children do not enjoy getting clean. To make the process more enjoyable for both you and your children, have them help you design a theme for the kids bathroom. Involving your kids in the design process makes them more invested in their bathroom. By giving them plenty of input into everything, from selecting the shower curtain to picking out vessel sinks, you can turn bath time into something that your children eagerly anticipate.

Picking out the right theme for a kids and teens bathroom can take some thought. Avoid the temptation to just choose something for your children. Instead, let them take the lead. The more they feel as if they are in charge of the process, the more excited they may be. If your children want a kids ocean-themed bathroom, help them pick out a shower curtain with seashells, fish and other marine life. If they prefer an outer space theme, look for decorations with rocket ships, aliens and UFOs. Every aspect of the bathroom, from vessel bathroom sinks to toothbrush holders, should be incorporated into the theme. Even their towels and washcloths should be chosen to accentuate the theme. If you cannot find something that fits, choose items that are as neutral and unobtrusive as possible so that they do not clash with the rest of your decor.

Letting your children help decorate their bathroom ensures that they find the time they spend there more enjoyable. When their bathroom reflects their own tastes, it can be difficult to get them to leave. Choosing the right theme for the bathroom lets them turn every bath into an adventure.

Outside my window… a dark and cold night, the perfect temperature for a sound sleep.
I am thinking… of how affected I’ve been of what I read on Facebook. It’s a good thing that there is an option to hide unwanted posts.

From the kitchen… we had last night’s leftovers – pork chop in gravy, dried squid (my favorite!) and a piece of cake from last Sunday’s party. (I just finished a cupcake from the said party prior to dinner. Sssh…)
I am wearing… the husband’s shirt and my shorts.
I am creating… a lot of baptismal tokens! It was a productive day and I finished around 49 pieces today. Why 49? Because I was done with assembling, baking and chaining them and I’ve put away all my materials when I realized that I missed one piece. Aaaargh.
I am going…to try to finish all the work that I can do this week so that next week, I can have a laidback and relaxing vacation with my family.

Around the house…someone’s reading her new books while I try to get some work done (and chat with a friend on Facebook).

One of my favorite things… this nice (and third) laptop table that my husband bought me. It is very convenient when working and eating on the bed. Hehehe.

A picture I love: Just one batch of the baptismal tokens that I’ve recently finished. These are not the ones I’ve discussed in this post but will surely share the photo of those too, one of these days.

Hello, Weekend!

>> Saturday, October 13, 2012

It is good to finally say that again. I have worked hard during the week and I think I deserve some rest. And I do need some self-rewarding too. I want to drop by one of our favorite local restaurants for a native delicacy that I have been craving for. It’s a good thing that they have branch at our favorite mall that’s having a 3-day sale. We need to also buy some cheap plus size homecoming dresses, not for me but for a friend who can’t find a style that fits her taste. I know her too well and she said that she trusts my judgment so she gave me her size and I will go shop for her later. My husband and daughter needs to shop for some things too, aside from our groceries. Indeed, it’s a great day to go malling! I hope you’re enjoying the weekend too!

iPad Mini? Seriously?

Here is an image circulating around the web of a supposedly iPad mini which is speculated to be launched on October 17:

ipad mini

Compared to the iPad, it has squarer edges but with similar lightning dock connector as the new iPhone 5. But according to Mike Cane, the FCC identity code at the back of this mini Ipad is same with the 3rd Generation iPad which means that photo is somehow bogus. Moreover, Apple usually sends out invites to a special event about a week prior to it but no invite was released this week. It is very unlikely then that the new device will be launched next week.

But Apple coming up with a smaller iPad is not impossible if it wants to provide a smaller table and compete with Google’s Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire HD. It is going to be a  hit for those who find the current iPad too big and the iTouch, too small. Winking smile

The World Wide Web’s Favorite Fairy

>> Friday, October 12, 2012

The bloglandia has been buzzing with news and posts regarding a certain Fairy Hobmother recently. It got me curious so I did a little research and was able to track him down. Yes, you’ve read it right – he’s a HE! Further questioning revealed that indeed, he loves to shower deserving bloggers with gifts. Not the big gifts such as a freezer but something that can help you own that appliance. Really cool, right? He is big when it comes to spreading happiness and joy in the World Wide Web and obviously, it loves him back. It is evident in the raves and cheers that he has been receiving for quite some time now.
The generous Fairy Hobmother instructed me to tell you that he also wants to visit YOUR BLOG. However, he needs to know where that is so make sure you leave a comment along with your blog link after reading this post. Deal? Deal!

Our Visitors

A highlight last week that was very memorable was when the BFF and his mother and sister came to stay with us en route to their Hong Kong trip. It was indeed refreshing to spend time with persons who are very easy to please. We have previous trips with them and it is consistent – we always, always enjoy their company. We took them around the city and treated them at places where we usually eat. It is a bonus that the BFF and I both have the same preference for food! We also took them to a Duty Free shopping and we know that they enjoyed it since upon their return from Hong Kong, they asked that we bring them back to the Duty Free store for more shopping. (Did I mention I shopped too?)

Anyway, we are hoping that by next year, we can all travel together and visit some historical places, both here and abroad. But before that, my family and I have to secure our passports first and that is bound to take place this month. By December, however, we hope to see them again as it’s our turn to visit them.  Hopefully, my friend’s car is already repaired (it encountered a road mishap AGAIN) and its adjustable trailer hitch replaced. We are planning to hit the beach and we need a good, working car to get there. Smile

Today (10/9/2012)

Outside my window… it’s about midnight so it’s really, really dark.
I am thinking… of how blessed I have been with work this week (and it’s only Tuesday!)

From the kitchen… a three-day old pork adobo.
I am wearing… a new pink sleeveless top and a very old shorts.
I am creating… some blog posts tonight.
I am going…to create a doll tomorrow out of polymer clay. It’s a bit challenging so wish me luck!

I am hearing… the whirring of the electric fan.
Around the house…my favorite persons are sleeping while I am trying to get some work done.

One of my favorite things… my new pair of eyeglasses with photochromic/ transitional lenses. My husband love them too since we were able to buy them at a very good price. Hehe.
A picture I love: Us with BFF’s sister and mom. I love that BFF always, always shoots at my best angle. Hahaha!

Successful Scumbags

Even though he didn't go to law school, joe francis, he knows his rights by heart and knows his way around court rooms. But, in spring of 2007, when court ordered joe francis jail time, it blew his mind. He felt and believed that there was clearly something fishy occurring for him to be denied of his basic rights and it was the ability to bail. He was put to court trials with the guardians in the girls who became a part of Girls Gone Wild filming given that they turned out to be minors and lied relating to ages. It had been settled through mediation talks but it was for the girls’ complaint as to how I talked and negotiated using them that got me heated inside the eyes from the court people. He was arrested for such that they claimed in (Legal Story) that his usage of what was an unprofessional manner of talking was even in a confidential mediation, meaning there is really injustice as to how he was put behind bars.

Joe was detained for 11 months which contained several appeals for bail but nothing happened. It was through his stay there that at some part, his lawyer and friend Roy Black stopped contacting him. He even exposed for media interviews when he in jail knowing that sparked many support through letters and e-mails for him. To create everything even irritating, for the reason that girls (accusers) have been paid $70 million favored by the court, even bragged publicly their newly purchased luxury cars (Mercedes, BMW and Lexus) and also the two even had breast enhancer jobs. It turned out through the help of Roy’s wife, Lea Black, that he was set out of jail. Clearly, judges that held Francis’ cases had something personal against him and yes it was extremely evident.

To Do

>> Monday, October 8, 2012

And we welcome another busy week. My family had a rather relaxing weekend spent with some persons closest to our hearts, some shopping, DVD marathon and much sleeping (at least on my part). Thus, I think I am quite ready for the busy schedule that this week brings. Here are some things on my list:

  • Send billing to clients (done!).
  • Check and schedule the online tasks that I need to write.
  • Buy the best rechargeable battery for our remote controls.
  • Pay some bills.
  • Deposit payment for some stuff I bought online last week.
  • Shop for some crafting supplies. (Again.)
Of course, included in the list are the usual weekly household chores and the blogging, clay crafting. While I wish to have extra pair of hands and time to do all the things that I want and need to accomplish, I am assured that I have a husband who is loving enough to know what are the tasks that he can help me with and just do them without being asked to. Life’s definitely sweeter with a better half like him!

Have a great week, y’all!

Outside my window… the dawn is breaking (and I am still wide awake).
I am thinking… of finally getting back to clay crafting after two stressful weeks.

I am thankful for… two things: the daughter and I to finally recover from sickness AND the weekend our family spent with some of the persons closest to our hearts.
From the kitchen… A LOT! We had guests over the weekend so we are fully stocked!
I am wearing… my new favorite shirt and shorts.
I am creating… my to-do list for the week.
I am going…to make prototypes for some clients tomorrow

I am hearing… some loud music from the distance at this time of the night/ day. It’s annoying!

Around the house…just us trying to rest (and me to work!).
One of my favorite things… the husband’s new gadget which I get to borrow. Winking smile
A picture I love: A set of baby shower tokens that I made. I find them cute!
