My Thoughts on PR Updating

One of the most terrifying things that might happen to a blogger is losing or decreasing of his blog’s valuable Page Rank. Early this week, Google once again has done another PR updating and sure enough, my blogs were not spared. This one gained what it lost during the previous update while another went one rank lower.

Losing a PR or even a decrease can be very frustrating. However, I have come to accept that as a blogger, it is but a part of my life. My blogs have no immunity when it comes to PR updating. There is no use if I cry a bucket, my PR won’t improve if I do that. I usually let myself rant and whine for some time and I am thankful for my husband and my fellow blogger friends for letting me indulge. And if my PR increases, I celebrate! But that’s just that. Life goes on. And on. And on. And certainly, another PR update takes place sooner or later. It’s either I lose some more, or I gain again. Well, that’s the life of a blogger!

Goodbye, R!

Early this month, one of my very few friends here in the city have left for our hometown. He resigned from his job here because wanted to be with his family again.

It made me feel sad because he is one of the few friends who live nearby. We were not able to meet prior to his trip but we had a lunch date last month that I will never forget because we ordered waaay too much food! The persons seated across our table, a language teacher and her foreigner student who were trying to familiarize themselves with a franklin language master kept on stealing glances at us. It’s either they were wondering how we’d ever fit the feast into our stomach or that they were annoyed by our chatter. Well, we rarely see each other, we are foodies and both of us have not taken any breakfast! Well, we overestimated our hunger and there were plenty of leftovers that we took home.

Yes, I am being melodramatic here. I miss my friend but I am happy for him and the decision that he made. We promised to see each other when we go visit before the year ends.

It All Ends: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

It is shown on cinemas! The last installment of Harry Potter, that is. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is now showing on the big screen and some friends have already seen it. Frankly, I was not able to catch the first part of this ending and I intend to watch it first before hitting the big screen for this super final ending. Our weekend is quite busy this week and I still have to set the date with the husband. Most likely, it will be next weekend. By that time, I hope that the cinemas are not as packed as I expect them to be tomorrow and on Sunday. It will be a movie date for the husband and myself since our not-so-little girl is quite scared of movies with too much violence and conflict. Hehehe. She’s still a baby, alright.

Thank You, Health Insurance!

I realized the value of health insurance when I had to go under the knife many years back. It was a pretty expensive procedure and had to be done in another city. I remembered the experience last night when a friend shared with me that she and her husband found an insurance plan that fits their needs from the website, http://www.wholesaleinsurance.net/. As I recall, we only spent for our food and other commodities upon discharge. My best friend was kind enough to provide us with shelter while I was recuperating. Truth to be told, at that time, we could not afford that procedure if we were paying the full amount. And we only took the risk because we are covered.

I am happy to report that I have been in the best shape ever. However, I do not want to take my chances since I’d rather spend our money on other things (like travel) and I do not want to undergo another medical procedure if I can help it!

Friends Old and New

One of the perks of our recent trip was a meet up with a very old friend of mine, R. We spent an entire afternoon catching up as it’s been a long time since we’ve last seen each other. We talked about the past, our former classmates and our friends, our kids and husbands. We exchanged notes about parenting, homemaking, marriage, cooking and we even had a discussion on which are the

safe diet pills for moms like us. During the late afternoon, she toured us around some churches and our day was capped with a very sumptuous dinner in a nice restaurant. It was a great day and we can’t wait to see each other again before the year ends.

I pride myself for belonging to different circles of friends. Some I have known since I was a wee bit young while others, I have met just last year. However, I am happy to report that these friends are just the best and that I can count on them (and they can count on me!) on anything. Truly I am blessed! :)

Surprise, surprise! It’s a Wednesday once again! Time flies that fast, don’t you think? Anyway, here are my happy thoughts for this week:

1. A grand celebration of my husband’s birthday marked by a trip to Cebu last weekend.
2. The gifts and cards that we gave him which made him happy (daw).
3. Being able to meet two old friends after a decade or so of not seeing each other.
4. My online work that lets me save and splurge at times.
5. Online resources to help me manage time and encourage productivity. I. Badly. Need. Help.
6. Nice new releases from Fei-Fei’s Stuff, new layouts.
7. Ebooks and friends who love to read.
8. And another wonderful weekend with my two loves.

Starting My Monday Right?

I wonder if it is the weather, what I had last night (a big slice of chocolate cake and a huge chunk of leche flan) or because I have been lacking sleep but I really do feel lethargic this morning.

Upon coming home from my daughter’s school, I was torn between doing the laundry, working on my online tasks or agreeing with a friend to accompany him to the mall for a lunch date and help him shop for a brand new barska. He will be leaving soon and needs to find a new one prior to his trip next week.

I just can’t seem to choose because they all are good choices so… I slept instead! The chores can wait and my friend still has a week until he leaves. I was reading a book on my iTouch and when the battery was drained, I took a nap. I woke up after 2.5 hours feeling more lazy. I’d rather sleep or read than lift a finger. Argh. It is a Monday and I need to be productive but, but, but the flesh is weak, so to speak.

Anyway, here is hoping that this will over soon. I think that this usually happens when I had a fun and tiring weekend, which is usually the case. Hehe.
