How to Become an Affiliate Marketer

>> Saturday, November 27, 2010

Similar to the traditional business of referrals, affiliate marketing is taking of as an Internet business model. The key to this is traffic. Business and retailers hire these affiliates to help them drive business to their websites and increase product sales. These marketers receive commissions on the sales they bring in, so it can become a lucrative business for the affiliate. Let’s do a little affiliate review and determine the best ways to become a successful affiliate marketer.

  • Find your market niche. This niche should have a lucrative sales opportunity. Find something you are already knowledgeable about as this will reduce the amount of research and homework you’ll have to perform before beginning.
  • Create an account with top affiliate programs such as eBay, Google, ClickBank and others that actively recruit affiliates. Some of these companies are repositories for listings of retail sites looking for affiliates; while those such as eBay are looking for their own affiliates to help their marketing efforts.
  • Determine the best keywords for whatever it is you will be marketing. Using Google’s Keyword Analysis tool can help you with this. Understanding how keywords drive Internet searches will help immensely when creating campaigns that will bring traffic to your site.
  • Identify an audience for your campaign. You can also use social networking sites to help establish yourself. Also use affiliate links in your email signatures to engage your friends to click on your campaigns.
  • Publish optimized content with embedded links anywhere you can. However do not engage is spamming forums or email accounts. Hubpages and Squidoo are good options for publishing content.
  • Write a blog on your category. Hosting your blog yourself will eliminate any possibility of violating certain site's marketing rules. If you have several niches you are marketing, create separate blogs for each one.

Thankfulness Lists

With all the commercialism that goes on this time of year, such as advertisements about Black Friday and Christmas day sales, it is very hard not to get all wrapped up in what is going on. My kids have already bombarded me with their Christmas wish lists, and my brother even said his girlfriend has been hinting around on the subject of Tacori engagement rings.

Don’t get me wrong I often get consumed with shopping, baking, and decorating this time of year, but one day I just sat down in the midst of all my busyness and started writing down everything that I am thankful for. It took quite some time, but I will share a few things for with you:

  • My faith
  • My relationship with my husband
  • My relationship with my children
  • My church and church family
  • My relationship with my parents
  • My friends
  • My home
  • My health
  • My husband's employment
  • My employment
  • My children’s school
  • Reliable transportation
  • Clothing
  • Insurance
  • Bills paid every month

This list went on and on and, quite frankly, if one of my children had not interrupted my I could have kept on writing. Without encouragement from me, my kids read my list and started lists of their own. Thankfulness lists have now become a tradition in our family, and it really has worked wonders for me as well as my children.

One of the benefits of the thankfulness lists has been that, while these lists seem to have gotten bigger each year, the Christmas wish lists have gotten smaller. There has also seemed to be improvement with the interpersonal relationships between my children. I think they didn’t even know they were thankful for one another until they wrote it down.

Increase Productivity and Decrease Distractions while Working

One of the best advantages of working from home is that one can take as many breaks as possible without any hesitation. People are realizing now that taking breaks between work increases productivity and helps one concentrate at the job at hand. The old assumption that work needs to be done continuously without any distractions needs to be ignored and the newer and more productive technique should be adopted everywhere.

Before beginning work, you should revise what your next steps would be. This is a very important tip that can dramatically increase productivity and effectiveness. When beginning work, you need to adopt the thirty minute cycle wherein you can alternate between work and break. Do whatever your mind wants you to do. You feel like eating something, go ahead and get it. If you feel like going out and getting fresh air, then go ahead. If you feel like talking to someone, then pull someone out of their work and talk. If you feel like browsing or betting for a change then go to the many sports betting sites and indulge in your favorite past time. The human mind is not meant to stay concentrated on one thing for a long while, it meant to be curious. By following this technique, you can get one hours work done in 30 minutes and an hour's entertainment in 30 minutes. Since your mind knows that a break is just after a few minutes, it will work harder and the incentive to be creative is more. Most organizations do not allow people to follow this technique since they do not believe that a four hour break in an 8 hour day will be lucrative to productivity. But if you work at home, then there is no reason that you cannot adopt this; chances are you are doing it already.

Time to Tighten the Belt

My husband is always talking about the importance of saving money. I couldn’t agree more. In fact, I am much better at it than he is. Sometimes I think that he talks about it to make up for the fact that he really doesn’t do it that much. When we go to the mall, for instance, he is usually the one that comes home with a bunch of useless toys. The kids and I look at him like he’s crazy. As if he’s ever going to need a cell phone with an application that checks the prices of new cars. Hopefully he’d spend a little more time researching a major purchase like that rather than relying on what his phone says.

Yesterday, he came home with one of the smallest computers I have ever seen. I have to admit that it was interesting, but we already have a home computer for the kids and two laptops for us. Knowing that smaller technology often costs more than bigger technology, I have to wonder how much he really spent on that gizmo.

Well, these things are about to stop. Economic woes have finally caught up to us, and I think that it is time to accept them as reality. That means it is time to set a budget that forces us to save money for the future. It also means no more unnecessary purchases. I mean it, Hubby! From now on, we’re going to talk about the things we spend money on; then we can make an informed decision about whether we really want to spend the money.

I’m afraid that the lifestyles we have been leading will mean that we have a terrible retirement, or that we won’t be able to retire at all. That’s not the kind of old age that I want, so it’s time to make some changes now.

Personal Finance Tips: Paydayone.com can Help

These are days when everyone must save to survive. Unless you are doing a good deal of personal finance planning, the recession might simply catch and gobble you up. Gone are the days when Americans used to spend thousands of dollars with their credit cards and still get away with it. Those were the days when a little extravagance was okay, because you knew you had your next big, fat paycheck coming to salvage you from debt. However, these days are not like those, and Americans have learned that lesson hard. So, we are doing a lot of personal finance planning, and doing what we can to stay out of water.

When all else is gone, one little tip that can save you oodles of money in interests is to take out a small payday loan. Reputable companies like paydayone.com will give you a small loan in the middle of the month. No hassles, no huge interest rate, and the loan approval process is easy as a breeze. The loan may be just enough for you to service that mortgage or that car loan, and may keep you adrift a while longer until you get your next paycheck or job.

It is also a good idea to go for an automatic recurring deposit deduction. In this process, you instruct your bank to take out some money from your account on a certain day, and deposit it in some safe place where you cannot reach it too easily. The idea is, while this still lets you withdraw money in an emergency, it still does not easily let you become extravagant and too indulgent. Known as a recurring deposit, this kind of savings does not pay much in interest, but is a sure and easy way of saving up at least some of your hard earned dollars for the gloomy days.

Playing Online Casino Games With Handheld Gadgets

Those who enjoy playing online casino games usually use desktop or laptop computers for their digital enjoyment. Gamers usually work full-time jobs and have other responsibilities, so it can often be a challenge for them to find the time to enjoy their hobby. While these players are very serious about their gaming lifestyle, they also want to be able to play their games any time that's available.

With so many different digital conveniences on the market today, the online casino gamer has not been overlooked when it comes to finding the time to enjoy his gaming lifestyle. Because of this, much technology has been developed to help further this along, and now there are multiple handheld gadgets for gaming. This allows players the ability to play their favorite casino games at all times.

Some of these digital gadgets are just stand-alone units. The more exciting gaming units allow gamers to play on units that connect to the Internet. These web-interface units also have features that will allow players to interact with other players and give them an opportunity for good competition, as well. That's one of the most well-liked features of these gaming systems.

Even with the units that connect to the Internet, players can still keep abreast of their scores, or they can choose to download them to their handheld device. The casino gaming sites online may have available features where the players can find their latest stats or scores, and they may even allow players to see how they compare with others who have played any particular casino game.

Digital casino gaming units can be purchased either offline at major electronic or computer stores or at hundreds of casino game resellers that are available online. Prices can vary according to the features available, but the gamer should definitely concentrate on finding the most exciting, yet challenging, game for their skill levels.

Financial Success Tips For A Great Life

A trouble free financial situation is essential for a happy life. Unfortunately, we are not taught to handle personal finances in our schools or colleges. Everyone expects others to learn handling personal finances by making mistakes with investments, savings and even marriages. Some people learn early and some are fairly clueless and keep making mistakes after mistakes. People avoid learning about personal finances assuming it is too complicated. You have to begin with simple things, only then will complicated things get simpler.

The first thing that you need to learn is to control yourself. Your parents might have taught you about this when you were a child. Learn to differentiate between your wants and needs. Go for needs, only at that time will you have learned self-control. So stop flashing your credit card for the smallest of purchases in the name of necessity. Keep control of your future through your finances. Avoid relying on financial planners and friends for advice for handling your personal finances. You need to keep track of where your money goes. Keep track of unnecessary investments and try to slowly reduce these expenses. Keep the monthly expenses way below monthly income. Instead of thinking for now, think about the future. One very significant thing you need learn is to save some money for emergencies. When a teenager starts earning, she forgets this vital part of personal finance. One can depend on emergency cash loans for time being, but it is recommended that you save every month for emergencies. No matter how many credit card minimum payments you have to make, or debts you will have to repay, save some for yourself. Everyone gets old, if you really do not want to spend the final years of your life constantly worrying about medical bills and domestic expenses, prepare well in advance.

Calling All Shoppers

If you have been reading long then you know me well enough to know that I love to shop. I don't really think that quite explains my love for shopping to the fullest extent, but you'll just have to believe me when I say that it ranks as one of my favorite activities of all time.

Not only do I love to shop, but I love to tell others when I find a great deal or just a great item. If you are still with me then I will tell you that I am about to share the brand name of the best fitting jeans that I have found in a long time.

I was browsing some clothes online and came across this line called the House of Dereon. These jeans are just flat out sexy. They have jeans to fit every shape and size. I can't wait to get mine. In fact, I ordered two pair. One will most definitely be worn on our next date night and the other will be from Santa to me. He is such a smart shopper. He always knows just what I would love the most!

Do you buy yourself gifts from Santa? Do you actually put them under the tree for Christmas morning? I do! It was something I started back when I was younger and single. It was just as a sort of personal joke in the beginning, but I have come to love the tradition. Plus, Mom deserves something awesome every year from Santa too right? Hubby's gift from Santa is waiting to be wrapped in the closet. Wait, does Santa wrap lumps of coal when he delivers them? Ha-ha. Not really. Mine has been a good Hubby this year. Even Santa agrees with me.

Spend Social Time this Holiday Season

Having friends around for the holidays is a beautiful thing. Not only do holidays bring people into closer contact with family, but friendships, sometimes allowed to drift a bit astray, can be tightened up as well. Everyone seems a bit more social towards the end of the year. Maybe looking forward to eggnog and snowflakes does it, maybe it’s the joy in sampling cookies and sharing end of he year catch-up tales which creates the vibe. But however it exists, holiday cheer is spread far and wide. Friends, family, even strangers often seem to perk up a bit as they eagerly chat and listen to other’s stories.

Food comes out in abundance towards the beginning of the winter season, as the massive Thanksgiving Day meal leftovers lead into the same phenomenon at Christmas. Only then, the leftovers revolve around ham, rather than turkey. The vive is similar, although with Christmas, people are filled with slightly mixed emotions. There is both anticipation of ‘What did I get?’ and a tiny bit of apprehension over the thought that someone wouldn’t like what was given. ‘When we were browsing through custom poker tables and he pointed out the one that grabbed his eye, even going so far as to sit down at the table, did I miss out on what he really wanted?’ one might wonder. But all in all, people are generally satisfied to have been remembered during gift-giving seasons, so there’s little need to stress over the gifts in question.

Relax, take a bite of cookie, and stroll around the gathered people. Even surrounded by friends and family, there are often new people to meet. Boyfriends, girlfriends, friends, and even new babies make appearances at this time of the year. Soaking it all in is a better way to bring in the next year, than with a list of resolutions!

Favorite Clothing for Winter

Winter can be challenging for those of us who aren't really into snow sports. The roads are often terrible; you have to get up before light to brush ice off your car, and then scrape it off. You're stuck inside constantly with your family or your room mates, or both. Forced central heating dries out the air and makes things terrible if you've got indoor allergies. Maybe you find the lack of sunshine to be oppressive all by itself. Maybe, like me, in the winter you find that you're just always, always cold.

But some of that can be alleviated with the right tools. I remember one winter, I bought this fabulous coat. It was really comfortable, and really warm, and I wore it everywhere all the time. And you know what? For the first time in years, I wasn't cold every single minute of the season. I totally lucked out, because this particular coat also looked great. The right clothing can really make a huge difference when it comes to how comfortable you are.

Another winter favorite of mine is a huge classic--wool socks. These are awesome because even if they get wet because your niece was stuffing snow down your boots, they'll still help keep you warm. And, they now come in a lot of cute styles. Fleece socks are good too, and I know a lot of people who swear by them. Maybe I'll try some when my wool socks wear out.

Besides that, having fantastic hats, scarves, and gloves can really help. You lose a ton of body heat though your head and your feet, and hats can be really stylish if you keep your eye out for good ones. Scarves can add color and flair as well as warmth, all things you need to make the winter go by in peace.

Protecting With Insurance

Although there are many more things in life to be concerned with, I find myself pondering if my family is protected. There are so many things to protect them from, including everything from the weather to the boogey man. I cannot control those aspects to some degree, but there are other things that I can control, such as ensuring that my family is well protected financially. Working hard is part of this, but beyond that, there is always the need to have the right type of insurance to pay the bills and to make ends meet when something does not go as it should.

I have taken some time to check out our insurance policies right now. We have several types, like most families do. I do find myself wondering if we have the right policies and the right amounts of coverage, though. For this reason, I decided to check out our policies and to get quotes for new ones; just to be sure I could get the lowest rate available. I did find great rates with an auto insurance company.

We were able to save money with this company because we were able to bundle several types of insurance policies together into a single plan. This helped me to save a substantial amount of money on the policy overall. I was able to bundle together our car insurance with our renter’s insurance, for example. I also have a classic auto insurance policy that I needed to make sure was up to date. All of this together was less than what I was paying.

It is a good idea to think about your family’s financial status from time to time. You cannot protect them from everything, but when you buy a few good insurance products, you can often save a great deal of money and get the peace of mind so many of us are looking for.

On this day of your life, Suzanne, we believe God wants you to know ... that you can find meaning in the storm.

At times everyone goes through trials and tribulations. Seek out someone else in a similar situation and give them an encouragement or just a hug. Find meaning in the midst of your struggles by helping another in similar straits.”

This is very true and effective. When faced with trials and adversities, focusing my energy and thoughts on how poor my situation is or how mean others are do not help me to feel and be better at all. Never.

However, encouraging others though I am feeling downcast myself can do wonders.

Demand for Welsh Gold Increased After Royal Announcement

>> Tuesday, November 23, 2010

After the announcement of Prince William’s engagement to his long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton next year, the number of investors who wish to buy gold bullion and gold from Wales has increased.

For several years, the precious metal used to create the wedding rings worn by the Royal Family has come from Clogau Gold. Welsh gold from Clogau Gold was initially used in 1923 when the Queen Mother chose it to make the bands for her wedding to the Duke of York Albert who later became King. According to the news, the wedding rings worn by the Queen, Princess Margaret and Princess Diana, among others, were made from a nugget of the metal that was given to the Queen Mother.

Since the engagement announcement was made, the company revealed that demand for gold has significantly increased and that they are thinking of reopening the St. David’s Mine located in Bontddu, Snowdonia.

Baking Supplies as Christmas Gifts

Some of my friends and I agreed to have small get together next month to celebrate the season. We had booked the place already and have appointed persons who will take charge of the games. We will also have an exchange gift and we have already picked the names of our respective “babies”.

I find it hard to find a gift for this “baby” since she seems to have everything in life. I was browsing through her Facebook photos yesterday when it hit me: she is into baking and she would definitely love some new baking supplies. In one of her current albums, I saw some delectable and realistic cupcakes that she made for a baby shower of one of our friends. I saw how laboriously she worked on those cupcakes and she even shared that she stayed up all night to finish them all. Well her efforts were rewarded since everyone raved about her creations. In fact, she gained new clients after the said party.

So I started browsing an online store for gift ideas and here is something which is just perfect for a baker like my friend:
A set of Christmas cookie cutters set. Certainly, she will find this set as a good addition to her collection of cookie cutters.

A Good Idea?

>> Saturday, November 20, 2010

We are just waiting for the temperature to cool down a little bit and we are off to the mall. I will be shopping for some books while the Husband wants to check out some videoke thingamajigs at one store. He is planning to buy one for our bigger family for Christmas. I kidded him by saying that he might want to go for a karaoke machine instead so that we can have it rented and he can have his investment back. He laughed and said that it is a good idea. However, I don’t think he’s buying it. Hahaha!

Houston Asbestos Lawyers

>> Friday, November 19, 2010

Due to its properties as heat and fire resistant, asbestos was widely used as an insulating material in the building, ship-building and motor industries. It is also a preferred material by household appliances manufacturers, power stations and telephone exchanges. Unfortunately, prolonged exposure to asbestos causes mesothelioma, a rare kind of cancer. Even family members of those who were exposed to asbestos are also exposed to asbestos since asbestos fibers can be carried to homes through clothes. Mesothelioma may not develop until 15 to 40 years a person has been exposed to asbestos. This is the reason there is an increase in cases of mesothelioma.

Companies involved in manufacturing products with asbestos were aware of its harmful effects as the 1920s and 1930s but were negligent. This is the reason why many mesothelioma patients and their families consult legal advisers for possible claims and compensation for damages caused to them. One reliable law firm that takes care of mesothelioma cases is

Heard Robins Cloud & Black, LLP. Mesothelioma patients and their families should immediately get in touch with one of their experienced Houston asbestos lawyer if they wish to file for an asbestos settlement.

Scariest of Them All: A Late Halloween Post

This may be a late post but then, what’s new? Haha! I am always late. Anyway, last Halloween, my mom was here for a short visit. We brought her to the mall for some serious shopping and while the Husband was busy checking out an xbox which was on sale at one store, I was busy checking this out:
(Pardon the grainy shots by the way. I was using my trusty point-and-shoot camera.) I think it is the scariest costume that I saw that day! He/ She was even stopped by some bystanders for a photo opp.

And then they descended to the first floor of the mall:
Where he/ she made many heads turn:
I do not know though if he/ she won the Halloween costume contest but his/ her ingenuity surely is remarkable (and not to mention scary!)

Ice Scramble and Twistix

This is something that I am so crazy about since we discovered it last month:
Ice Scramble by Icebreaker

Ice scramble by Icebreaker! We did try other ice scramble makers but so far, this is the best tasting ice scramble. I am happy that a stall is located at the nearby mall which I usually frequent. Just yesterday, I consumed two servings of these while waiting for my daughter.

Next to the Icebreaker store and a stall with a karaoke machine for rent stands a Twistix store. So, in between my two servings of ice scramble, I had a small serving of Twistix. It is a twisted, fresh, deep fried potato in a long barbecue stick. It was my first time to try and I was surprised that it is crunchy. A better alternative for french fries, if you ask me. I even bought another serving for my daughter. And that earned me The Best Mommy of the Day award. Woohoo!

What Usually Completes My Day

My days are never complete without a chat with an old friend, B. She is one of the best and I am happy and very grateful to have her in my life. We’ve known each other since we were little girls and for me, she is the sister that I never had. B is also married and a mom of two growing kids so our daily conversations involve marital bliss and problems, kids’ schooling, health, antics and many others.

We also talk about our health as women. We are not getting any younger so we make it a point to be fit and healthy to be able to really enjoy life. Some months back, we exchanged notes on the best vitamins for skin and hair. We have been taking the same vitamin supplements and so far, we are happy with the results.

Hopefully, we can get to meet again next month during her daughter’s birthday. I miss her and surely, our kids will have a blast playing together just like last July when they came for a visit.

Preparing for the Beach

When I was a little girl, my family would frequently visit the beach for relaxation along with other bankers and their respective families. It is one of my childhood memories that I truly cherish. I was reminded of this memory when I unearthed some childhood photos of mine recently. I even found some of my photos at the beach with me wearing my two piece!

It has been a long time since my husband, kid and I had a trip together. My husband promised that we are going to take a dip at the beach by next month, during our Christmas vacation. Aside from taking a dip, I am also excited about a possible photo opportunity with a friend. As the family photographer, I rarely have good photos of me so I usually take advantage of our getaways with him for me to have decent portraits. I shared this with a friend and she suggested that I’d better prepare for it not only by losing unwanted fats but also by booking for Bikini Waxing before we leave. However, I should first find a reliable hair removal salon within the the city. I would prefer referrals, of course but I am still unsuccessful as of this moment. How I wish that something like the Urbana which is a trusted hair removal salon and clinic in Dublin. Many of its clients have testified how good and professionally done their services are. Moreover, their customer service is remarkable too and for me, that is one thing that will make me patronize an salon or any establishment.

They’re Expecting!

>> Thursday, November 18, 2010

And finally, we met! Eds and I, that is. We talked for a while after she handed me my package. I invited her for snacks but she only had some few minutes to spare since she was on duty. She promised though that we will meet again soon and spend time together since she will be a full time work-at-home mom by next week.

It certainly makes me happy now that I have a friend here, aside from Ate Emmie, of course. It would be nice if the two of them meet too since they have one thing in common – both of them are pregnant! They will certainly have a lot of things to share and discuss, like the discomforts of the first trimester, to their ultrasound results to how to

increase breast milk production

once they give birth. I am very excited for these two ladies and I can’t wait to see their bundles of joy when they come out.

Meeting Eds

An hour or so from now, I will be meeting an online friend for the first time – Eds. I will be claiming the prize that I won from Faye’s contest. Yay! (Thanks Faye!) I was not familiar with her former place of work where we are going to meet. It is a good thing that my husband and I passed by it last weekend and it just located by the roadside, past the huge metal buildings. I can definitely manage to go there on my own. As you all know, I have no friends here so I am very excited to meet and congratulate her personally for her second pregnancy. And since we will be meeting in a company store of consumable goods, I might be shopping for some items too. I can’t wait!

We are just waiting for the laundry to dry up and we’re on our way to the malls. My husband promised to buy me some new pair of jeans since the old ones are somewhat loose now. Yay! I am also asking him to treat me for a serving of ice scramble which is our latest addiction.

A Better Choice for Windows

Being asthmatic and allergic to dusts, house cleaning has never been my forte. I would rather wash the dishes or do the laundry or even iron clothes the entire day. During my growing up years at my parents’ house, I had my very own room which of course, I had to keep tidy and clean. Certainly, cleaning it is one of the chores that I detested back then. However, I gave my very best and made it sparkling clean whenever I was scheduled to clean it. I sweep it from top to bottom and made sure that no speck of dust was left even if it makes me sneezy afterwards. I even remove all the window panes and painstakingly clean them one by one, a task that consumed a big portion of my cleaning time.

That is why I am grateful for the glass windows that we have here at our current home. Cleaning them is very easy. I wish I can convince my parents to replace their windows with glass ones. It does not accumulate so much dusts compared to window panes. But it is unfortunate that we do not have a reliable windows replacement company there. Unlike in Denver where a reliable and trusted company has been serving their clients for many years. For replacement windows Denver residents can count on Andersen replacement, a company that makes massive renovations like window replacement an exciting and stress-free job.

Home Improvement

During my trip to another city two months ago, one good friend accommodated me at their house. I also stayed there some months back during a vacation. When I arrived at their house, I was surprised and impressed at the improvement not only of the lawn but of the house. Last May, the ground was brown but they have hired a landscaper who planted greens and flowers around. Moreover, the windows were replaced with sliding windows. The house now looks brighter and the windows provided a nice view of the backyard garden where some vegetable plants are growing.

When it comes to replacement windows Maryland residents can greatly rely on Replacement by Andersen’s expertise. Not only are their staff’s expertise and professionalism commendable but their windows are of topnotch quality as well. It is no wonder that many of their clients have preferred their services and products over the years.

Putting Up the Lights

Yesterday, I saw some men being busy on something at one of our neighbors’ house. One was even climbing a ladder and I thought he was having the house’s windows repaired or replaced. It was during night time when I realized that what they did was not a repair job but instead, they have put up the house’s outdoor Christmas lights! It has made our lonely street somewhat festive and I can’t wait until our own Christmas decors are put up. Our glass windows will surely look equally nice when the lights and decors are installed.

Now when it comes to windows Philadelphia can rely on Renewal by Andersen. Their clients have testified how efficient the staff is and how their windows looked fabulous once the work is done. Most likely, the value that Renewal by Andersen put on good customer service and great workmanship have earned them repeat clients.

A 70’s Dress

>> Saturday, November 6, 2010

I work in a university and one of our most anticipated annual event is our Christmas party. Most often, we follow a theme during those parties and many of us really exert effort and spend for our costume or party dresses. Some years back, the theme was the 70s. I had a hard time looking for a style that fits my taste. Some friends suggested that I go for high waisted jeans but I preferred wearing a nice dress. It’s a party after all and the only time of the year that I get to really dress up. I did a little research and discovered maxi dresses.

I borrowed a friend’s fashion magazines and I searched for a nice maxi dress design. Afterward, I consulted a friend who designs and sews dresses regarding the style, the materials and perfect cloth to buy. I bought everything and she had it sewn for a very short period of time. I felt guilty for cramming but it is a good thing that is indeed a good friend. The party was great and I felt really good wearing that elegant dress that night. Plus the party was enjoyable too! I was reminded of that wonderful experience when I was looking for some womens jeans at awear.com this morning and saw this beauty:

A Late Bloomer

One of my mom’s frustrations when I was younger was that I disliked wearing dresses. She would usually buy me floral dresses when I was a little girl but to her dismay, I would refuse wearing them. They would end up being given to some relatives or being donated to charity every December.

I was not a girly girl back then simply because most of my time were spent with boys. I have two younger brothers plus most of my close cousins were boys too. Obviously, dressing up was never my thing when I was younger, even when going to church. So imagine my mother’s joy when I started shopping for and wearing dresses this year. Being a work-at-home mom and wearing jeans to fetch my girl to and fro her school five days a week, I feel that it is but right to somehow dress up during the weekend, especially when we go to church. I did an online search for the latest trends when it comes to dresses and I chanced upon Awear.com where I saw some trendy tea dresses. Their wide collection of gorgeous dresses is very impressive. They have everything from party dresses to simple day dresses. Simply browsing through their collection is a delightful experience.

Just last weekend, my mom was here and she did not let the chance of shopping for dresses for her only daughter to pass. It was indeed an enjoyable shopping time both for her and me!

Worst Financial Decision of the Year

>> Friday, November 5, 2010

Financial experts say that the worst financial decisions an investor can make this year is not putting his money on gold. Precious metal investment is perceived to be a safe haven for investors since buying bullion is a low-risk investment with an awesome upside for the long-term investor. With a stagnant supply and rising demand for this precious metal, it is inevitable that its price will soar in the near future.

Now if that convinced you to invest on gold, consider US Gold Bureau. It is trusted by many investors worldwide because aside from being America’s best dealer of precious metals, their hard asset professionals also provide excellent service.

Gold in Dentistry

One of my friends is planning to buy gold jewelries very soon and last night, we had fun discussing the many uses of gold. One of them mentioned about its valuable use in the field of dentistry. I did a little research and learned that gold has been used in dentistry for almost 3000 years. During the 7th century BC, the Etruscans used gold wire to fix false teeth while in an early dental textbook during the 16th century recommended the use of gold leaf for filling cavities.

What made gold perfect for dental use is its malleability and resistance to corrosion.

And according to the resources that I found, the top 3 countries that fabricate dental gold are Japan, Germany and USA.

Enticing!

>> Wednesday, November 3, 2010

Have I told you about my persisting and annoying Internet connection? It has kept me offline for several days! My backup ISP is as unrealizable as well. We are already thinking of upgrading for a better connection hopefully within this week or early next week. My work performance is often times affected by how slow or fast my connection is. It can be so frustrating and my husband now understands me when he used our back up this morning to send an email to his boss. Haha!

Aside from that, I have also been having problems with my laptop. It is unfortunate that I am not a student anymore so I don’t get to enjoy student laptop insurance to cover my laptop repair expenses.  My husband suggests that since the holiday season is approaching and there will be sales, we might as well buy a new unit and have this one repaired too. I can’t decide yet but having a new laptop for work (and play) is an enticing thought, don’t you think? :D

A Helpful Website

One of my friends’ goals for next year is a trip to Las Vegas. It is his dream to set foot and play (and hopefully win!) at one of the famous casinos there. I was able to talk to him two nights ago and since he is feeling lucky, I suggested that he try his luck on online casinos. But since he has not played any online slots yet, he has to do a little research on which online casinos are reputable and with reliable customer support. His search led him to Online Casino Spotlight where help for new and seasoned online casino players abound. It features complete reviews of best online casinos, bonuses, games rules and strategies. It even provided a list of the top 10 online casinos as ranked by experienced players. My friend found the site helpful and is now excited to try online casinos.
