Cute Baby Shower Invitations
Monday Fun: The Blog Edition
1. What different blog formats have you used (i.e. Blogger, LiveJournal, WordPress, your own HTML, etc.? Which did you like the best?
:: Just Blogger so there’s no point of comparison as of now. :)
2. How did you get into blogging? How long have you had a blog?
:: When I began digital scrapbooking, I started blogging after some months. My first post was posted exactly 4 years ago! That’s interesting!
3. Why do you blog?
:: Because I am a frustrated writer. I also like to update friends and relatives near and far regarding my life, our family, my hobbies. And to earn some on the side too.
4. Do you have theme blog (i.e. crafting, cooking, deployment, pregnancy, etc.) or is it all in one?
:: Two theme blogs: digital scrapbooking and education plus two personal/ what-have-yous blogs.
5. Do you let it all hang out on your blog, or do you keep it light?
:: Sometimes light, sometimes otherwise.
6. What is your favorite thing about your blog? What has it given you?
:: It lets me do a favorite activity which is writing and I meet a lot of new friends while earning extra which I use to finance my hobbies and maybe afford something for the family sometime next year. ;)
Snagged this from Diane. Originally titled Saturday Fun: The Blog Edition but I have to revise it since I am doing it on a Monday (obviously).
Toys for Big Boys
Because I could feel something rough at the side of one of my molars, I panicked and made an appointment with our dentist last Saturday. One of my fears is having a tooth (or teeth) extracted so it’s better to prevent it, right? My husband went with me (as the little girl was at my parents for the weekend) While waiting for our dentist, we browsed through the magazines at the waiting area. One gossip magazine featured some local male showbiz personalities and their big toys. Some of them have fast and sleek cars while others own big and monstrous motorcycles! No doubt, aside from investing on good motorcycle covers, they also invested much money and effort in improving their motorcycles! I was about to read the articles to know more about their passion for big toys but alas, Doc arrived!
A One-Stop Shop for Brides-to-Be
One of the things I was able to do last week was spend an afternoon with a friend. We have not seen each other for some months now and it’s nice to catch up about each other’s lives. We talked about her ongoing fertility treatment, my blighted ovum, her vacation trip to Dubai sometime next month and her search for nice and functional cardboard displays for her wedding shop.
I have been at her shop many times before and it’s a cozy and lovely place! The gowns are breath-taking and I can’t wait to see the shop formally open and filled with every single thing that is needed during a couple’s big day! She is planning to display more stuff to make her store a one-stop shop for brides and grooms. It will the first of its kind in the city when that happens!
Confidence is Her Last Name
It was a rainy Saturday morning last August 29 but we braved it and went to DD’s school. There was a big assembly of administrators of an organization of various schools in the area and she is one of the selected pupils who were chosen to dance as a part of the Mass at the start of the assembly.
There were about 10 of them, all are ballet dancers. They practiced for the interpretative dance during the week but DD refused to show us the moves. She was shy, she told us. But she was never shy in front of the audience. Well, well, she certainly did not get that from me! Haha! Indeed, she is one confident girl and I am very proud of her!
While Away…
Ola! It’s been a while seen you saw me here, right? No, I did not intentionally disappear from the face of the WWW. You have to give the credit to my ISP, SmartBro, which is not being so smart these days. It has annoyed me to no end, really. If you wish to read more about my rant, go here. But if you want to know what I have been up to offline, continue reading:
1. I was able to scrap some pages. About 2 a day. Plus somehow finish the birthday album that was 2 months in the making.
2. Visit a friend who is home after some months of being away and spend an entire afternoon with her at our favorite cafe.
3. I have purge some unused stuff from our drawers. But then, I was able to fill just one small box as of this time. LOL!
4. Put some recipes into good use. That is, trying them out! I am on the process of perfecting my braised pork/ adobo/ lechon paksiw recipe. Yeah, it’s the same ingredients and mixture!
5. Most importantly: Spend quality time and give undivided attention to my family. They deserve it and it is nice to be hitting the sack at the same time they’re in bed. We even get to hear DD’s prayers before she falls asleep and we usually find it funny when hear that DH is included in her list of persons who must be renewed by God. LOL!
Anyways, it sure was a productive period despite my disconnection from the Net. But then, I still need to be connected because of my online work! So please, SmartBro, give me back my connection!

Safeguarding your Paypal Accounts | Paypal Account Safety
One of the emails I found on my Spam Folder yesterday was one supposedly from PayPal. There was an attachment and the email itself contains the message that I need to change some pertinent information regarding my account because someone else was supposed to be trying to use it.
The first time I received such kind of email, I panicked. Good thing I was talking to Liz who warned me that it’s an attempt to hack my account. Thanks, Liz!
For all of us PayPal users, it’s good to read the Online Safety Essentials by Paypal. It pays to be informed and like what they say, “It’s better to be safe than sorry.”
Superb Monday and Musings on Tita Cory’s Death
Monday morning started out great for me yesterday. Two reasons actually:
1. DD’s classes were still suspended, thanks to the flood. The janitors, teachers and employees had to clean the officers and classrooms before they resume classes today.
2. DH did not have to leave for work early. Basically because he had to leave for another business meeting later that morning.
It’s not that I am enthusiastic about DH’s leaving. I just love that we had a sort of extended weekend with no need to get up early. And it’s good to have them around despite the fact that they make me go crazy in their so many creative ways. They are most likely sick if they don’t do that so I am OK with that. Haha!
Anyways, I went grocery-shopping with DD yesterday. We also bought her more stickers (as if the other gazzilion stickers she has were used up) and some school stuff and a story book (again, as if she needs more to add to her humungous collection of books!) We were supposed to eat out but when we saw the long lines at the counter, we changed our minds (or I changed mine) and went home instead.
Afternoon finally gave me a chance to open the laptop and check. Got a chance to chat with a friend and watch the transfer of the late President Cory Aquino’s remains from the DLSU gym to the Manila Cathedral. It was one heart-warming event, to see thousand of Filipinos bid her goodbye and honor her in their own little ways. It’s big and grand and very Filipino. And in our own little way, DH and I pay homage to her by staying up late at night to watch the coverage and various tribute given to her by the ABS-CBN and GMA7. We are awed by her strength and values. Truly, she is one inspiring person.
You make us proud to be Filipinos, Tita Cory. We will never forget you. Thank you so much. And say hello to Ninoy for us.
The Husband’s Life Path Number
I took the same quiz. See HERE. I am posting this one for DH (because online personality quizzes are definitely not his thing. LOL!
| Your Life Path Number is 8 |
![]() You are both a natural leader and a natural success. You are also a great judge of character. You have a head for business and finance. You know how to make money. A great visionary, you can see gold where other people see nothing. In love, you are very generous - with gifts, time, and guidance. You love to inspire people, but it can be frustrating when they don't understand your vision. Great success comes easily for you. But so does great failure, as you are very reckless. You are confident, and sometimes this confidence borders on arrogance. |
