Hey There!

I stayed up late last night because I had to scrap (I’m on a CT, remember? :D) plus I watched The Unit with Wes. (Yeah, we bond by watching the series HE likes. Haha!) It’s nice though I like NCIS more. I was telling him about Prison Break which Litzie recently finished. However, he has reservations since he thinks that the cast is way too big.

Anyways, going back to my story. I also did a layout. But I can’t share it now. Not yet. Hehe. Just wait. I am happy to report that I have been scrapping and some of my pages are here. Good thing mojo has not left yet. Woot!

I brought Therese to the campus today. We were not busy and there was an ongoing city-wide athletic and socio-cultural tournament for private schools. I am not a sporty person but I discovered that I like martial arts. Watching OTHERS play, actually. No, you can’t make me play. So don’t ask. LOL! Anyways, we watched the taekwondo competition and I am verrry much impressed with how our athletes played. I rooted and cheered for them, of course. My throat was hurting afterwards. LOL! Many of our players will be joining the team for the regional meet. I wish them the best!

Lastly, I am thinking of getting another domain. Haha! But I still need to think about that. Am I capable of maintaining another blog? You tell me. :D

Destination Weddings

One of the many things that I like these days are wedding magazines. In fact, my youngest brother in-law, Ted, gave me two as gifts last Christmas. I find it nice to look at wedding photos and read about the couples’ preparations before the big day. The various designs of invitations, souvenirs and gowns fascinate me.

As I browse through my magazines, it dawned to me that even weddings have changed. Wedding magazines are aplenty, there is one or two in every news stand. There are wedding coordinators even in a small city like ours! The invitations come in many shapes, sizes and colors, if you are willing to pay the price. And what was once done in the church can now be done outside of it. I am talking about destination weddings – beaches, gardens, you name it.

Manic

I am trying to multi-task again. I am trying to watch (and understand ha) NCIS season 5 while blogging and scrapping. I understand a bit of what I’ve been watching and I’m already done with my blogging at the other blog. Scrapping? Well, I am thinking of using QPs this time! Haha! I am working on another photo book which I hope to print with ARTSCOW so wish me luck!

Speaking of ARTSCOW, I slept late last night because some of codes of free stuff were about to expire. I uploaded a photo book, 50 5R prints and a 12” x 18” print. I only paid for the shipping of these stuff. Woot! The photo book is for my daughter. The 50 5R prints are our December 2007 photos – they will be sent to my parents in-law. The next free 50 5R will be our most recent vacation photos. Once they’re complete, they will be sent to them in an album. The large print will be sent to Shelley, my sister in-law. It’s a collage of the photos of her daughter, Sea. Here’s she:

She has to stay with her Lolo and Lola for some time and I understand how much her mom misses her. I hope that the gift will somehow ease that feeling.

My prince is home! Woot! It’s so nice to have him around, I get to rest once in a while. Hehe. I am feeling quite happy, happy, happy now. :) However, he’s glued to the TV! He is watching NCIS while I am trying to blog. I mean post a decent post. Hehe.

By the way, I am done with my project – a photo book! Woot! Thanks to Ate Jen for helping me out with the ordering. It’s a photo book and not a scrapbook page. Waah! I am so dumb! Haha!

Saturday Pictorials

One of the many things which I find tough to do these days is blogging. It seems that I am too lazy to update though I have plenty of things to share. Maybe I just feel tired. And that time of the month too. *sigh*

Anyways, I hope your weekend is great. This morning, I had a pictorial with our Ayala Young Leaders Congress 2009 delegates. Had some of the shots processed and I will be uploading them at our university’s intranet portal come Monday. The guys were too conscious on camera but they were cooperative though I was telling them that I was just practicing on them. Hehe.

Un-diet

Like what I’ve mentioned here, I was officially on a diet. However, it seemed that life was trying to test my self control. Indeed, there were food, food, food when I visited my former office that afternoon! And one faculty celebrated his 60th birthday with the ever famous pancit palabok which is one of my favorites. Hay. And since there were feasts and even a post birthday celebration (for moi!), I decided to stop taking diet pills and dieting altogether until Friday. Haha! Just tonight, we had a grand sea foods feast since my favorite cousin arrived from Manila. I am sooo full! But promise, I will be back on diet come Friday. Promise. :D

Addicted to Books

The three of us received a lot of books last Christmas. For one, my Twitter mommy – who was Litzie, by the way, sent me the Philip Yancey books I requested. Thanks, Litz! Read about it here. Another good friend of Wes from way back, Atty. Laurence, gave us more books. He usually gifts us with books every time we see him.

Therese got a number too – from her Lola Auntie Rose, Ninang Shelley and Tita Liz - who bought her two books which she liked from a nice book shop in Serendra. (I still need to blog about our meeting.) I am happy to report that my girl loooves to read. She has a good collection of books. Someday, when she gets a little older, I will let her choose from the variety of Amazon books offered online. I’d rather let her spend her money on books than on makeup. I will be the one her those! LOL!

Seriously, we are happy that Therese takes after our love for reading. And we pat our backs for starting her young. Go us! :)

My Saturday

Howdy and happy weekend! It’s a tiring one for me since our laundry girl did not arrive. Ugh. Good thing my good husband is around to help with the 1-week worth of laundry. There is nothing to complain about my man, really. He is very much helpful around the house and rarely complains. I am just lucky to have him. And I think I’ve already told you about that. Hehe.

But anyway, I am happy it’s a weekend. You already know that I love weekends. It’s a great time because I get to be with my family and work on my blog and scrapbooks. I am working on a project -  a photo book! And I wish I can finish it very soon.

Anyways, I am off to check on Washington DC cosmetic dentistry as I need to write a good entry about it later.

Everyday Beauty with Everyday Minerals

Sounds like a tag line, right? Haha!

I badly need to wake up early these days. Do you know why? To be able to apply makeup before I leave for work! Haha!

Thanks to Kathy, most of us, Twitter girls are enjoying the beauty of using Everyday Minerals Makeup. I availed of the the Free Sample Kit plus a Kabuki Brush. I only paid for the shipping fee and the brush. Super cheap! How I wish I can find a similar deal on best diet pills!

Anyways, I placed my order last month but due to our long Christmas break, I was able to receive them just last week, upon our arrival. Take a peek:

I was initially surprised to see how small the brush was. However, I was very much impressed when I used it. Unlike other brushes, it indeed does its job of applying blush on my cheeks! The make up samples might be small in size too but they are full. I’ve been using them almost daily and I can say that I am very much satisfied with my buy. No itch and rashes. And most importantly, the Husband noticed! I was already exhausted from work and was preparing supper when he commented how pretty I was with my make up on. Hehe. And to think that I applied my EM make up about 5 hours ago!

I am being conscious of my purchases too, but because of my job, I need to look (and feel) pretty and presentable so EM make up goes to my must-buy list, whether I like it or not. Excuses, excuses. Haha!

It’s Official!

I am on a diet. I’ve started to be conscious of what I consume since Sunday. I feel and look fat and my clothes confirms that fact. I had difficulty fitting in to my blouses these days and it’s horrible. Either I loose those unwanted fats in the middle or change my wardrobe. The former is the better and cheaper way to go.

Just tonight, I began taking a diet pill and I hope it will help me reduce weight. It’s not Decaslim, though I hope it will work in the same manner. It has always been a New Year’s resolution to loose weight but it seemed that it just became a wish. That was never fulfilled. LOL! So wish me luck and I hope for a good outcome in the coming weeks. ;)

:: When I was young and slim, I was a relatively good girl so no fighting and arguing. But when I became a mother, my mom and I argued about MY parenting. Haha!

~Search for discount furniture online, blog to finish at least two opps and Twit. And then spend some time with my husband and kiddo before hitting the hay.

~ An event planning business with my brother in-law, Ted.

~ 5PM, that’s going home from work up to 6AM – time to prepare for work.

~ Not much.

~ My comb, wallet and mobile phones.

My Pretty Planner

My friends at Twitter are not only chat/blog/digiscrapping mates. They are also recommenders of great stuff which are worth buying. Take this Belle de Jour Power Planner for instance.Almost all of us got one. We’re more than 10 in the group, we should be availing of wholesale discounts, right? :D Anyways, BDJ is sooo pretty it fits me! Haha! I decided that I need one because life has been busy since I transferred to a new office. Our dear Ninong Tim has been faithfully sending us planners from Ateneo but I never used them because they’re too nice to be written on (my  penmanship isn’t that nice) plus there is not much to schedule!

So anyway, I got the BDJ for this year. But just like with all of my other notebooks and planners, I had a hard time getting myself to write on it. My penmanship, remember? Plus the fact that it’s new. I even bought new pens just to make me write on it. Haha!I removed all the discount coupon pages in it (since I won’t be using them anyway) and began jotting down birthdays of the persons I know. I also started writing down some scheduled activities like meetings and disciplinary case hearings, scrapping and blogging. I still need to get used to using it and bring it whenever I can since I am not only intending to use it for office stuff but other personal stuff as well. I hope I won’t loose it somewhere! *knock on wood* Haha!

Another Item on My Wish List was Slashed…

…because my paid blogging for one year had finally paid off. Here’s the proof:
 
That’s my brand new Nikon D60, baby! It was bought from Henry’s in Quiapo before the year ended. I was accompanied by my supportive husband who gave the go-signal (I can actually buy it even without his approval but what he thinks REALLY MATTER to me.) and two of my brothers in-law --- Asley and Tedley.

I initially researched about Nikon D40 because it’s the cheapest DSLR in town. We also read and asked about the exact location of Henry’s. Thanks to the helpful people in DPP and Ate Jen, we were able to reach Quiapo. However, we missed Henry’s – it was at the corner, hidden behind many stalls. We already reached the Quiapo Church so we asked for directions. Finally, we found it but I was disappointed to learn that there was no D40 unit available, only D60. The patience and support showed by the guys I was with was really encouraging. We again walked through the shops and inquired. There were other shops offering D40 but without a Columbia warranty. We finally went back to Henry’s and got D60! The amount at Henry’s was lower compared to the other shops. However, there was no more free camera bag available so Asley need to go back there one of these days to claim it.

1. What do you hope to have accomplished before the end of 2009?
:: Plenty! A photo book or two, new guidelines re school organizations’ operations in the university, learn more about my new job, improve the business of running student organizations and a lot more!
2. How’s the New Year treating you so far?
:: So far so good. Things are a bit slow for now but it will surely gain momentum soon.
3. How do you feel about yourself right now?
:: Good. But I badly need to loose weight, seriously. I’m thinking of seeking help from diet pills like Solo Slim to get rid of my unwanted fats accumulated during the holidays. Yikes.
4. What are the seven wonders in YOUR world?
:: The place where I grew up. My high school grounds. The place where we live now. The place where I served as an Oblate Volunteer. The university where I studied, worked for 10 years and met my soul mate.  Pampanga. Malls! :D

:: “Sometimes I can be MEAN. Haha!”
6. As a child, what job did you hope to have?
:: A teacher. I have been offered to teach in the university where I work. However, I don’t think it’s my calling. :) I believe that I am called to mentor and influence lives in a different manner and I am sooo loving it.

:: Digital Scrapbooking. Laundry. Dishes. Haha!

:: I’d stick with my real, real age – 30. I have been flattered with comments like I look younger than I really am. Just last month, two persons in two separate occasions commented that I don’t look as *old* as my two batch mates whom they saw. Haha!

:: I would like to think so! I create scrapbook pages and I write.

Look Who’s Back!

The pretty, old me of course! LOL! We arrived home yesterday and I can say that the flight was much better compared to when we went to Manila. It was our first time to fly from the NAIA Terminal 3 and the experience was awesome! The place was way too nice compared to the Domestic Airport!

Another great news was that Therese did not suffer from motion sickness! Woot! That is one big accomplishment and I hope it’s permanent. She is one adventurous kid and I hope she would be able to explore the world without the discomfort of motion sickness. :)
