Katie Holmes Escapes Car Explosion in Australia

Katie Holmes, wife of Tom Cruise and mom to Suri, narrowly escaped serious injury when a car caught fire on a movie set in Australia where she is filming “Don’t be Afraid of the Dark. She was inside the car when it’s battery exploded last weekend. It sparked smoke and fumes prior the explosion.

"Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" is a remake of a 1973 TV movie. Katie Holmes plays a woman who is stalked by wicked gnomes.
