Home Sweet Loan

Aside from the usual "When are you going to give your daughter a younger brother?" type of question, another query that we usually encounter for about two years now is "Don't have any plans of buying a house?" Our answer has always been consistent - it is a fulfillment of a dream for every family to own a house. And I believe that we can afford to buy one with the help of a home loan. However, we are also considering the place where we want to buy a property. I regret to say that it is not here, where we are currently based. With better career opportunities for Wes and myself and a good education for the little girl, we are praying, planning, working for a relocation.

Speaking of home loans, there are plenty made available by several financial institutions. It is best then to read and research about the many options and choices that fit your needs and capacity to pay. As early as now, Wes and I are looking for the best home loans available to us. We have been saving but we know that our savings is not enough thus, these home loans will surely be helpful when that time comes.

My Patriotic Girl

As a part of my new job, I will be leaving on Friday to attend a seminar. It should be interesting even if I will definitely miss going online for 5 days! But I am hoping that facilities will be available so I can check once in a while. I also have pending tasks to accomplish and I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will be done before I leave.

Anyways, the two loves of my life will be left alone so good luck to the little girl who often finds her Dad annoying. :D The Philippine national anthem has been one of her favorite songs, being taught in school. And we all know that kids have an uncanny way of singing songs - they have their own lyrics and sometimes miss some lines. Our girl is not an exemption. However, I find it cute so I just let her sing her own version! Last night, when we were about to sleep, the father started singing the song and the little girl, though initially shy, followed. As expected, she still has her ""silangalan" instead of "silanganan", pasisihit" instead of "pasisiil" and "dilat" instead of "dilag". Even if I heard it a dozen times before, I still find it amusing. But somewhere near the ending, she forgets her line. But she did not stop. Instead, she did sing the song all over again. Eight times! It was hilarious! Her Dad said that she is a perfect example of a sirang plaka. (broken record). Imagine, it was pitch black and our neighbors were all asleep and you find two adults laughing their hearts out and a little patriotic girl who was singing her heart out just to get to the correct ending of her favorite song!

Looking Three Years Back

Can you believe it? One more day and it's a new month! Time flies really fast and before we know it, our family and I are bound for our yearly holiday trip! Yay! I can't wait! We get to see Wes' parents, siblings and relatives once in a year so spending the holidays with them is a real treat! We get to go to the malls with them and eat sumptous meals prepared by my super mother in-law. I am always heavier when we leave Pampanga. I am always hungry there! Is it because I don't do the cooking? Hehe.

Heart Talk

How is your health? I am still recuperating from my bout with asthma and I still have three more days to finish my medicines. I always joke about it - the asthma came from my mom and of all things to be inherited from her, what I got is this! But what's scarier is developing a cardiovacular disease because of my sedentary lifestyle. I am not getting any younger so I better get moving!

As we grow older, minerals accumulate on the inside lining of our blood vessels and eventually clog them. This condition may result to several diseases like high blood pressure, angina, heart attack, and the worst - stroke. So This is How it Feels!

It was a hectic and busy day. I did not have time to eat snacks and was starving when lunch time came. My 4 days of absence did not help accomplish my piling tasks! And meetings were done spontaneously. Anyways, I am not *complaining* per se. I am happy with my job and the people I am working with. Fulfilling!

Anyways, in this post, I was complaining about my meds (being downers) and in this post, I recounted how I lost sleep *maybe* because of the new set of meds prescribed by my doctor. I am suspecting and Mamitz agrees with me (she's a former superior and currently, our HRM officer) that *maybe* one of new medicines is an upper. Which one could it be? It's about 1 AM and I am sooo alert! So, this is how it feels to be taking uppers huh. In the previous days, I was usually dead tired upon coming home from work but this time, look at me! This is the third night and I will be calling my doctor later. However, instead of forcing my self to rest and sleep, I was productive and came up with THIS (you better click that "THIS"!) I am proud of that one! Plus I was able to grab two opps from LW! Yey! Thank you, Lord! :D

I will be on an official travel soon but before that, I am patiently waiting for something that I have been sooo wanting to get my hands on. ;) Coming soon to a blog near you. Hehehe!

My Weekend Roundup

Hey ya! How was your weekend? Yesterday, I was able to see my doc again. He was out of town for some days. All of my med were changed and I am now taking about 4 pills in the morning and at night. Talk about drug dependency. :D Anyways, I also visited the office after being absent for 3 days and the paint still smells! The carpenters are not through with their job yet and I doubt if I can stay and work there tomorrow. But I was very pleased to see my old officemates. And the student leaders I am now working with welcomed me with new tasks and projects. Yay!

Anyway, after the check-up and procuring the medicines, the H and I had lunch in a Chinese resto and I thoroughly enjoyed it. He had his hair cut and we bought some groceries and by the time we got home, I was sooo tired and sleepy. I woke up at around 7PM, finding the girl and her Dad asleep too!

I had a heavy dinner but after about 2 hours, I felt hungry again. I ended up eating cookies and fruits and later, hotdog and rice (along with the girl who just woke up). I justified that it was because of the pills that I have took. And I stayed up late! Blame it on Flair, one of Facebook's applications. I was able to make one for my friend, Shaui. Lookie here:

It's cute, right? :) Sent it to her and she LOVE it! Anyways, I went to bed around 3PM but unfortunately, sleep was impossible! I tried praying the Rosary (instead of counting sheeps ha) but to no avail. I read a book, wala pa rin. :( It was almost 5 PM when I had a shallow sleep. And I tried again this afternoon. Hay. What happened? I thought the culprit was the medicines (again?) but just tonight, I realized that maybe, just maybe, it was my overeating! Hay. So tonight, I will try to turn in earlier than usual. I hope I can have a good sleep. Good thing was, (and I am not sure it it is the new vitamin supplement that I have been taking), I was not a walking zombie with a bad headache today, despite my lack of sleep. Amazing! :)

The girl and her Dad had a bonding moment when they attended the noon Mass. The H advised me not to go and just rest. They got me grilled chicken, Mr. Donut doughnuts, ripe mangoes and butter cookies. Yay! (No, I did not overate this time!)

It's another week for all of us and I hope it will be productive to us all. Ciao!

I spent three years studying in a university and I have been working in the same school for more than nine years. I earned my Master's degree there too. I witnessed how it metamorphed into what it is now. Thanks to the dynamic school administrators that we have, the school is responding to the growing change that the students, their parents and the world outside experience. The physical structures and environment is now more conducive for studying and extra-curricular activities, the employees and faculty are more motivated to work and facilitate learning. Facilities are also upgraded and our laboratories are expanded with more machines and what-have-yous for practical learning. More than that, the students are now provided with more opportunities to learn, to grow and to lead. However, there is still a lot more work to do to cater to the needs of the larger population. Maybe someday, we can be capable of offering more courses, online courses, or accept foreign exchange students. It's a long way to go, I know. But I believe that it can be done.

The Worst Usually Brings Out the Best... Husband

So I am still home, recuperating from my asthma and headache and fever. It's been 3 days now. But yesterday was the worst day. You see, when I get sick, I noticed that during the duration of my illness, there is a period when I feel very sick, I hit the lowest. This time, it was last night. It was a horrible feeling, both physically and emotionally. I thought I was gonna die! I am just thankful that I have a very loving husband who took care of me despite the fact that he was tired and had to be home late because he had to work overtime. He did not get mad when I could not decide where to sleep. He allowed me to just *watch* TV because it steers my mind away from what I am feeling. He even tolerated my request to turn on the lights at one of the rooms though I asked him to just slightly open the door. I had a hard time sleeping. But I woke up early and found him checking on me.

I feel much better now, compared to yesterday. I have been taking meds (which, I think, mostly are downers) and have been eating more fruits than I have consumed in the past weeks. I have also been drinking water like crazy though it's not a new thing. And here is my big THANK YOU to my husband, Wesley, for taking good care of me. I know that this is not going to be the last but I pray that you will not get tired of looking after me, especially when I am incapable of taking care of myself. I am not only blessed to have you, I also consider myself sooo lucky! I love you!

Me, The All-Knowing

On our way home one afternoon, the little girl and I came across with my mom's officemate's daughter and exchanged Hellos. When we parted ways, my little girl asked me, "Mommy, bakit alam and kilala mo lahat?" (Mommy, why do you know everything and everyone?) That caught me off-guard. I just held her close and told her that no, I don't know all and everyone.

It melts my heart to know that up to now, my girl looks up to me and for her, I am omnipotent and all-knowing. And even if she has been testing my authority, her world still somehow revolves around me and her dad. :)

But barely breathing - figuratively and literally -- tons of work (not complaining because I am happy with what I am doing even if I was not really promoted. Haha!) and our office is undergoing a renovation and repainting (again, not complaining despite the smell of the paint and other chemicals they've been using -- now I am sneezy -- because I will have my much-desired work area really, really soon - along with a brand new PC!). So please, bear with me. Tags will be done and I will blog-hop once I have my life back. And I hope it's soon. (Of course, it's not as soon as I wanted. I *need* to report for work on Sunday.)

And so, with these and more, I asked God to help me get through the week, right? Plus a new pair of shoes and pants too! Howdy! How was your week? Mine was obviously hectic. Yesterday I had my first disciplinary case (since the Boss has to attend a weekend class). I admit I was initially nervous but God is good. We (me and my companion) survived! :) I have some major activities lined up in the coming days so I don't expect to have my online life back soon. :(

I didn't have the appetite to eat in the past days because of of stress. But yesterday, Therese and I ate stopped by a native resto and ordered some yummies. Trust me, the weight I loss for not eating like the way I used to in the previous days was gained back and more! And just this afternoon, one of my bestest friends, Marijo and hubby, Joel, came to visit and brought us some grilled pork. Yummy! Along with the protein and fat-pack grilled pork is the news that Marijo has re-enrolled in a fitness program. I am soooo proud of her. It's a daily thing and Fridays are for belly-dancing! Wow, how I envy her! I can't wait to see her wear a sexy belly dancer outfit and as a butterfly-lover, I know that she is going to love this diamond butterfly body jewelry:

Still here. Just a bit busy at work. It's almost 4 in the morning and I am up! I slept around 10 PM last night without going online. Yey me! I needed it to keep me sane. LOL! I woke up around an hour ago and yeah, I can't get back to sleep again. But I will force myself to do so in a bit or else I will be a walking zombie later at work.

Speaking of work, I am swamped with many tasks. The good news is that they are finally working on my working area. Or at least they inspected and measured the area just yesterday. The good boss is also working on our requests like my own PC and other things. It is so hard to work in such a small table, especially that I need to do consultations with some student leaders. Anyways, things will get better, I hope.

Just help me get through this week, Lord. :) And I want a new mobile phone, a pair of shoes and pants. Hehe.

Because of the Internet, of course! I have several tasks to do when I go online. I usually update my blogs (I have three so it takes time), check-out digital scrapbooking sites for freebies and sales. I also get in touch with my online friends through Twitter and Yahoo Messenger. And of course, check my emails and other relevant websites for blogging opportunities. ;) (Last night, I was reading and later posted about the best online casinos). And look, it's way past my bedtime but I am still here!

What do I plan to do with my earnings? Aside from financing my digishopping frenzy on digikits and scrapbooking books (which shouldn't be!), I am hoping to save enough for a pretty DSLR come December 2008. But I am so fickle-minded regarding this matter and might be opting for something cheaper and practical like what my friend, Chikai, bought recently. :) OR I can take my chance and play online casino blackjack , win big time and switch back to buying DSLR again. But nah... I'd rather spend my money on shopping. And for the life of me, I don't even know how to play blackjack! I don't know a single card game except for solitaire! So weird as it may seem, for someone who is not a risk-taker, I admire those who likes taking risks and play casino online and do other things which I don't have the guts to do.

Day 4

Fourth day of our no-class-because-we're-flooded week at Notre Dame University. In the morning, I was able to get inside the university through the back gate. We were supposed to pack relief items for the evacuees but the supplies were delivered in the afternoon. Anyway, here are some of the photos which I got.

Upper left is a part of the little girl's school. Notice the makeshift bridge and a friend who toured the area with me. Say "Hi!", Faith! :)

To the right is the building where my offices (former and current) are housed. Those are some of our student leaders who were there to help with the relief operations.

Shot taken from the Archbishop Gerard Mongeau, OMI chapel (our university chapel). It is an elevated place and spared from the flood, for now. In view is the pathway and that building is our school cafeteria.

Lastly, here is an "aerial view" of one of our students' favorite tambayan. It would have been a lovely sight if it was a pond or something but it's definitely not.

Howdy again! This is the 3rd day of our unexpected vacation. I was finally able to go and see the cause of this unexpected break and here are some photos. Excuse me for the angle because I was in a moving car when they were taken.

This is the entrance of our university. It is obvious that it is impossible to get inside on foot. Well, it can be done if it is OK with you to get wet with the muddy water.

This building houses several offices at the ground floor, including my new and old offices.

A former officemate told me that we are going to have a Mass tomorrow at the gymnasium, one of the areas, I think which is not flooded. Let's see if I can go. My boss also requested me to be around though I do not know what time. I need to look for someone who will accompany the little girl if it's late in the afternoon. She has been suffering from cough AGAIN. And has complaints on headaches. Though I never hear any complaints when she's watching Disney Channel or her DVDs. Hay! Kids!

I have been having eye problems and I recently visited an opthalmologist. The itchiness and pain I felt around my eye make me feel so uncomfortable and lazy (good excuse, eh?). Anyway, I was expecting that the doctor would say that I am having problems with my vision and I would be needing the aid of eyeglasses. However, I was wrong! My vision is more than OK. So there is no need for me to choose from the array of Incredible Stylish New Frames From Zenni. But in case I need a pair of prescription glasses, this would definitely look good on me:

On the other hand, a friend of mine recently asked me for an advice (as if I a good at giving one) because she dislikes wearing her Zenni Optical $ 8 Rx Eyeglasses nor her contact lenses. It's uncomfortable as both feel heavy, she claimed. Water All Around...

...that's why classes are suspended at the university for the ENTIRE WEEK. Is that good news? As much as I love holidays, it is definitely not! Especially now that I am pretty much loaded with tasks to accomplish with my new job. We are supposedly going to hold our school organizations' recruitment days and try-outs for varsities this week, plus audition for our new band members. It was also announced that the elementary will have their make up classes on Saturdays. Aargh...

Anyways, I am hoping that things will get better soon. They are trying to clear up the water lilies at one of the major rivers nearby. Some portion of the subdivision near ours is already experiencing flood too. I was able to visit the city earlier. Unfortunately, I did not have time to visit the university area and see for myself what had happened to it. I saw on the local news that there are still some people I know who frequented the school. Anyways, I will try again tomorrow.

Still Home

Still no work for me and class for the little girl. The water inside the school compound and the surrounding areas got higher even if it did not rain last night. :( I hope to visit the school today if it is passable and will try to take some photos.

Anyways, left with nothing relevant to do, I decided to do more tweaking with this blog. You will notice, in case you didn't, that the blog lists are now blog lists instead of just links. It is one cool feature of Blogger that I totally love. However, there were some links that were not "accepted" by the blog list thingy so I had to create a new link list for them.

I am a very *smiley* person. My posts, emails and even Twitter updates are usually filled with smileys. Googling helped me discover that I can insert a script and smileys substitute some codes like ; ) will turn into ;) and : z into :z. Cool, isn't it? Go here if you're interested. However, there are times when these codes do not turn out as smileys. Maybe because of bandwidth or whatever. Anyways, I am a happy blogger now. In 4 days time, the Husband - my Husband, will be celebrating his 20-something birthday! He is away during most of this week and I have plenty of time to come up with a special something for him. I share the sentiments of many of my girl friends - we find it difficult to shop for gifts for men. If asked what to buy for a male boss or friend or husband, my usual answer would be hankerchiefs, or socks or pens! It is that hard! Or maybe I am just uncreative. :D I know, I know, I need to be more resourceful and create something for the most, super loving man on Earth. (OK, I am exaggerating but that's the way I see him!) It would be nice to give him a personalized mouse pad (with our picture on it. :D). Some years ago, I made digisrapped photo of him and Therese and placed it in a picture frame. I know he loved it! Hmm... What do I give him this year? Think. Think. Think.

On the other hand, I find it much easier to find gifts for cute and adorable babies. I know I should be looking for one soon since a former officemate will have her baby girl baptized soon. I can choose toys or cute clothings, books or pretty stuff for the baby's room. But I need to check on my budget first!

Expecting... NOT!

Friends, relatives, former teachers and acquaintances have been bugging us with one question: When are we going to get pregnant again? The girl is already 5 and they claim that it is going to be difficult if we wait to have another kid again. I remember it so well -when I gave birth, my mother advised us not to conceive again soon. Recently, she asked me when are we planning to give her another grandchild. LOL!

Well honestly, I would love to be a mom for the second time around and I know that financially, we can afford one. Expecting is an exciting period and I can stand the waiting time. It is fun to visit a baby boutique and look for cute baby stuff. Planning and preparing for the christening as well as the first birthday is also exciting. There will be more photos and memories to scrap too! However, our biggest concern is finding a caregiver. So, I don't know when we're going to be parents again. Maybe when we move to Pampanga. Or when the husband allows me to work from home. And that's another story. :)

Noticed it? I did not take the risk of uploading a template made by other sites. I learned my lessons the hard way some eons back. I just used a template made by Blogger and tweaked it just a little bit. Love my header by the way. ;)

Anyways, I hope you like it! It's a no-class/office day at our university since it is flooded, even the street/avenue leading to it. I can just imagine the difficulties faced by most of the residents of this city. Last week, it was reported that 60% of the city is flooded. This morning, it's already 75%! Thank you, Lord, our subdivision is not flooded yet. But if worse comes to worst, what will happen to us?

I am a multi-tasker. I am proud of that. I can scrap, browse shops, chat and watch TV at the same time. It's a talent that we, busy moms have. However, I have been frustrated and discouraged with how slooow this laptop has been especially when I run Adobe Photoshop CS2 and ACDSee 8 and Firefox and Yahoo Messenger simultaneously! Good thing the Hubby finally gave in to my request of adding computer RAM to this laptop. Running these programs is a breeze now. Thank you, Babe!

However, buying the right kind of RAM or size of memory module is critical. I was hesitant to visit the computer shop and ask but I did! I talked to their salesperson and pretended that I knew what I was talking about. On the other hand, I overheard another customer who was interested to add IMAC Memory. I left the store armed with the information about two DDR thingies - a relatively expensive one and a relatively cheaper one compared to the other. I had to find out which one fits my laptop. Unfortunately, I later learned that my laptop requires the more expensive kind since it was manufactured about 3 years ago. *Ouch* on the Hubby's pocket. I am so thankful that he is very supportive of me and my caprices, errr, endeavours. :)

I have been a patron of that computer shop now since that's where I purchase inks for my printers. I will be visiting the shop within the week to accompany a friend who is looking for DDR PC2700 Memory for her computer and of course, ask about EHDs for the nth time. :)

Like Alpha, I just don’t want my loved ones to get sick.

I don't know... Maybe to have money appear in a single snap - so I can feed the hungry and send kids to school. And spoil my loved ones with expensive things like a playstation 3 perhaps.

Fire hazards, if these are the only choices. But they are definitely useful when lights go off!

Hah! I talked with several school leaders, attended an election of officers, went to the market, met a friend and bought materials for the wedding invites, updated my blogs.

Just earrings and our wedding ring.

My colorful sleeveless top and blue shorts.

Weekly.

I close my eyes! LOL! On my side, most of the time. I have been covering my ears/head with pillow but I read that that's bad. :(
