Thinking

>> Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Hi everyone! So, I stayed up late again and came up with a page. Yay! This is my take on Paislee Press' challenge here. Thanks, Shaui for leading me there. I am loving her minimalist's take on pages as this is going to make my life easier. :) Here's the page:

Journaling reads:
"What’s on your mind, little girl? I wonder. For such a little girl, you look like thinking of some great thoughts. So tell me, what are you thinking of,my little girl?"

I am way past my bedtime so I will now leave you in peace. :)

Thank God for Templates!

>> Monday, April 28, 2008

Don't look now but I finally came up with a decent page with the help of a template by a good friend of mine, Shaui, who is now by the way selling her kits here but still gives some pretty stuff at her blog. Thanks, Shaui! Anyway, here's the page: Did nothing much here except plop a photo, choose a paper and then added the border. Easy! I am so used to making my life harder that I am not so satisfied with this page. LOL! But this will do for now.

And this next page was made some weeks ago. Yeah, yeah, I used the same border. Too lazy to accessorize and Flergs' border is a big help! And it's ok to re-use stuff, right?

Anyways, that's all for now. You all enjoy your Tuesday. I am sooo looking forward to Thursday coz it will be a HOLIDAY! Woot!

Date with a Date Stamper

>> Sunday, April 27, 2008

I have been taking photos with my trusty point and shoot camera. Now that I have finally decided to print our 3-year old digital photos on CDs, I have been adding date stamps after a little tweaking with the photos (my pre-photography reads days). I know I can opt to turn on the date stamp but I don't because I am a digital scrapbooker and it is going to be an added work to remove them if I want to use those photos on my layouts. I am getting a little bit frustrated because there are loads of photos to work on! That's the advantage of going, digi, right? Anyways, I know that somewhere, there is something which can help me with the date stamp job so I spent my night last night looking for it. I slept so very late but I am happy to report that I found TimetoPhoto! It was so easy to use and navigate and you can try for free for 30 days.

Why do I want to date stamp my photos, by the way? See, I have been telling you about organizing our photos the Stacy way here and here. I am modifying her system to fit the system I have been thinking of. To begin with (and to remove the guilt feeling), I decided to print and "albumize" all our photos. I need the date stamp because I want to know how young my kiddie was when those photos were taken.

So there, it has been a happy Saturday. Even if I was a bit sickie and missed a god daughter's first birthday last Friday. And my foot still sore. But it rained! Yay! Plus I am almost done with Sea's album. Woot!

You all have a lovely Sunday!

QOTW 16

>> Wednesday, April 23, 2008

Here's my take on Yen's Questions of the Week 16.

1. Have you tried running far away from home alone? How does it feel? Nope.
2. Who or what is most beautiful to you? Syempre, my kiddie. ;)
3. You are still sleeping and suddenly someone wakes you up. What would be your first reaction? It better be important, as in matter of life and death because I will definitely get cranky. Hehe!
4. What’s your significant other/partner/husband/wife calls you? And what do you call him/her? Hah! :D I call him Babe. Corny 'no? He calls me Lab-Lab. ;)
5. Someone is knocking at your car window, and you see a little girl selling fruits for $1. Are you going to buy one or just ignore her? Please be honest. I usually shake my head no, like Alpha.
6. What time did you wake up today? Happy or Sad? 6:00 AM. Sad dahil papasok na naman!
7. Do you go to work everyday? Where? Yeah, unfortunately. Haha! In a university.
8. What did you do this past weekend? Rested my sprained, sore foot. Was not able to attend Mass nor do marketing. I am so, so blessed to have a caring husband!
9. A random photo off the web…anything at all that you think is worth posting. Post it here. 10. Why did you chose that picture/image? Because this is my girl three years ago. Pango pa sya noon. LOL! Haay. They grow-up sooo quickly these days! If I can only stop her from growing up. Hehe!

Rant-Rant-Rant

Who missed me? No one? Oh well... :) Been MIA for several days or nights now since I have been feeling so tired and sleepy these past days. You'd find me asleep even before the clock stroked 8PM for two consecutive nights now. Tired and sleepy and somehow miserable. *sigh* Must be that time of the month.

And to cap my week, guess what happened yesterday. I sprained my left ankle! I was about to go out of the house through the backdoor when (this is my theory) half of my right foot was stepping on the rubber mat (about 1/2 inch high) and the other half was on the floor. I was on a hurry and in my mind, I was already done with the laundry (multi-tasking again) when in fact, we're not even done with half of it. So my foot twisted and it was sprained. It was oh-so-painful, believe me. I thought I was going to die! And it is still hurting-hurting-hurting. So now, I am bound to bed and have to rest. It gets me thinking now that I am temporarily disabled - things like being able to walk, I take for granted when I can walk. Oh well... Good thing the Husband has been so caring and understanding. Again, I am such a lucky wife!

And here's a trivia: this right foot has been so prone to sprain. Last year, I was visiting a booth by our Peer Counselors when my right foot accidentally fell into one of the platform's holes! I still have the scar left by the wound. And when I was younger, I have sprained this foot countless times. I recently discovered the reasons why, thanks to the Husband. I AM FLAT-FOOTED. It seems that people like me are prone to tripping and sprain and stuff. *sigh* Not-so-nice things that I need to live with.

And you all have a lovely Sunday, everyone!

Encounter with the Losers and a Book Which is a Winner

So it was a so-so day. Busy and was somehow spoiled by some spoiled and lying braggarts. One word for them though: LOSERS!

On a lighter note, I got the magazines I won from Aggie's RAK. Yey! Thanks, Aggie! Plus Papa found and delivered my old photos. Yey!

Another thing, I am already done reading Stacy's Photo Freedom. And wow, she never cease to amaze me! Really. Thank you, Stacy! OK, you might be wondering what I am talking about. Now read this. As a scrapbooker, you might be feeling the way I do. OVERWHELMED with the photos that we have accumulated from way, way back. I discovered that I can easily scrap when I have my stuff within reach. Again, allow me to remind you that I am a digital scrapbooker, thus, my stuff are digital files. I have been organizing them through ACDSee and totally loving the freedom to create without spending too much time looking for a particular paper or ribbon or embellishment. With ACDSee, problem solved!

Now, I am at lost with what to do with the photos that we have. When we finally got a digital camera, I stopped printing photos. So, imagine the number of photos that I have been keeping on CDs. I resolved to just print them all to address the guilt. But to make things and my scrapping life more organized and bearable, I decided to enlist Stacy's help by buying her newest book. And pardon my raving but I totally and absolutely love her system!
I am about to reread her book to keep me going with the system she wrote about. Of course, I will be modifying some of her suggestions since I am a digiscrapper. What her system is all about? I won't tell you. :D You have to read it your self so grab a copy now! I still have to schedule the sorting of photos and stuff. But I already bought two lovely photo albums that will house about 600 of them. Yay!

And I can't wait to scrap again this weekend! Yay!

Just One of Those Days and Kelsey's Contest

>> Tuesday, April 15, 2008

Hi all! I have been feeling lazy and irritable today. Must be that time of the month, eh? I have been itching to digishop (to feel better. Yikes!) but I must restrain myself because I have not been earning! Will patiently wait for the National Scrapbooking Day on May 3. There will be lots and lots of sale around the digiworld. ;)

I have loads of tags, some from last month pa, but my goodness, I just don't feel like existing these days. KWIM? But pwamis, I will work on them very, very soon.

I started reading Stacy's book (read this post) and I have been overwhelmed by the fact that I am loving her id
eas! I started searching for my old photos which I placed inside a guess what --- shoebox! But I just started sneezing and sneezing because of the dusts without finding those precious photos. Oh well. That contributed to my frustration, I think. Maybe we left them at my parents' house. But Wes said that he saw it here, somewhere. Our house is sooo small and I am supposed to find them easily. *sigh* I am still hoping (and it calms me to think) that they are left at my parents' house. Anyways, I am loving the book (I even place it inside it bubble envelop) and I will just work on our wedding photos which are kept in *gasp* magnetic albums down to the photos which are yet to be printed. *sigh* Lot of work, I know but I believe that the system which Stacy talked about will work. And I am keeping my fingers crossed (and toes too!)

Anyways, I am also here to tell you about Kelsey's contest in her blog. Go here and read about it. Joining is sooo easy! Who knows, Wednesday is going to be your lucky day! Good luck!

Anyways, enough blabbering. I am off to hit the sack now. Tomorrow is another day. Take care all and have a great Wednesday!

Howdy?

>> Monday, April 14, 2008

Hi all! How are you all been doing? How was your weekend? Mine was spent with the girlie and the Husband, of course. I was so looking forward to the weekend, thinking that I could scrap but I was too tired to do that, of course. We had a week's worth of laundry and the pile was as tall as Therese! Seeing an empty hamper was a relief. I know that some of my mommy readers understand this feeling. ;)

Today is Wes' first day at his new job. Yey!

Anyways, THIS arrived today! Yey! So, so earlier than we expected. Thank you so much, Bookoto! You really rock, J & S! I agree with Stacy, I don't need more ideas. I NEED A PLAN AND GUIDE. This book is THE book that can help me come up with a plan. I am actually drowning with the numbers of photos that we have. :)

Anyways, the week is expected to be as busy as last week. The next holiday will be at the beginning of May. I am wondering if Labor Day (which falls on a Thursday) will be moved on Friday. Hmmm...

Have you been reading and watching about the scarcity of rice and rising costs of almost everything in the market? Even plane fairs are going expensive! Sana our salaries will also increase soon.

That's all for now. I hope to blog more if my energy and interest permit. :)

Just a not so short post. :) We just received a good news, something that we have been praying for some time now. There were 3 options but what I have prayed for specifically is the one being granted. Yey! Thank you, Lord!

Anyways, there is an ongoing contest for digiscrappers HERE. I slept very late last night and came up with THIS. What do you think? :) Some of the participants are my friends too and I wish us all the best of luck! I have been so lazy with the tags and blog stuff but I have been so into digiscrapping. Good thing, I believe. ;)

And guess what, another great news! I am one of Aggie's winners HERE. It is our lucky day!!

We enrolled Therese into a reading and writing class in her school. Two reasons: She is lazy in writing and summer break will surely bore her without anything to do (and play with). Today is her first day of classes and I am happy and relieved to see that some of her classmates today were her classmates last school year.

Anyways, I will be off to work in a bit. Catch you all later!

So, What are You Doing and a Contest

>> Wednesday, April 9, 2008

Hi all! Was stressed at work, it seems, kaya I had a terrible headache since last night. But not too stressed to go online today. LOL! I am home with the girl. She is home! Yay! I sent her to spend the night with my parents last Monday and I sooo missed her. Anyways, I feel tired these past days so there's no updates nor tags done yet. But again, not too tired for the layouts huh. :) Mojo is here so I have to take advantage of him/her/it. :D

Anyways, what am I up to right now? Downloading this:
Lovely, aren't they? Go and grab them HERE.

By the way, I am also spreading the word here that my good friend, Liz is having contest here. Go and see her for a chance to win some $$! :)

I scrapped AGAIN! Yay! Like the previous layout, these photos were taken during our family vacation in Davao City last October 2006. Meaning, I am so left behind with my photos na. *sigh* But anyways, I am enjoying and very happy to be scrapping again so no rush! By the way, journaling reads:

"No doubt, you love MALL RIDES! I don't understand this addiction but I support you.
I will pay for them as long as they make you happy.
Because when you are happy,
I am happy!"

Anyways, we had a busy day. The three of us went out to claim Kaela's report card, eat out and buy some stuff. It was tiring but I enjoyed being with the two. They also had their hair trimmed. We are hoping to grow the girlie's hair long but it's getting unmanageable.

Anyways, I have to prepare some things for this week before I hit the sack tonight. So, this is good night and I will catch you all tomorrow!

Cards for a Cause

Those cards are lovely, aren't they? No, they are not mine! They are just some of the cards that Maybs made for the Carmelite sisters in Sta. Ignacia, Tarlac.

If you have time (and scraps), make everyday cards (any day theme cards) for the Carmelite nuns. They will use these to reach out to other potential donors for funds needed to complete a chapel that they are building. Cards will be collected starting March 8 to April 30, 2008. Envelopes will be provided, so you need to make your cards fit the size 6 of the baronial envelopes (5X6 inches actual size of the envelope). Make your cards no more than 4 3/4" x 5 3/4" inches in size.

You may send your cards to
Ms. Candy Lagazon at Centro Montessori, 49 Xavierville Avenue, Loyola Heights, QC.

Come and join us in the this noble undertaking and help the Carmelite nuns in their endeavour. To know more about this, go and read Lee's blog. The main activity is over but there are other ways to contribute aside from making cards.

Thank you!

Amazing Little Girl

>> Saturday, April 5, 2008

Hi friends! It's a weekend and I am so, so happy to be home! I have not been able to update daily since we got back to work because I felt soooo tired. Yesterday was a particularly rough day because of an encounter with a third kind. LOL! I had rude client who did not approve of waiting for her turn and falling in line. She wanted to be accomodated ahead of the two persons who came before her. Haay. It was humiliating on her part, really. The good thing was an old friend came to see me and it is always fun to talk (and sometimes fight) with him. See you again, Denz!

Anyways, Monday is going to be a holiday here in the Philippines in celebration of the "Araw ng Kagitingan" which is supposed to be on the 9th. One legacy which will be left by President GMA is moving/altering the dates
of the national holidays to either Friday or Monday. Holiday economics, they say. OK. As long as there's holidays. ;)

Anyways again, look what I did! I SCRAPPED! Yey! I have been waiting for the right moment and here it is!
(Click on the image for a larger version)
OK, it might be so simple but having stopped scrapping for a century (OK, it was just a year. :D), I am particularly proud that I was able to whip something that I am very happy about. You see, I have been trying to scrap again for about a week now. The layouts usually get deleted. This is the lucky one. LOL! I finished this in less than two hours and that's a big thing for me. Yey me! Journaling reads:
"You never fail to amaze me.
You are witty and smart, adorable and unpredictable.
Each day with you brings new surprises.
May you never cease to being our Amazing Little Girl"

That's all for now. Thanks for dropping by my little nook. Have a lovely Sunday!

Ten Things I Love the Most About My Man

>> Thursday, April 3, 2008

I was tagged by a good online friend (and we're hoping to meet soon!), Yenny Girl! Thank you!

Anyways, Wes and I have been married for almost 6 years na and blessed with an a pretty and smart girl. I am hoping for another boy pero not now daw muna. LOL! Anyways, here's what I love the most about my Man, in no particular order.

  1. He spoils me. A lot. Not just materially but with lots of patience, understanding, support and love and so much more. I am one lucky and blessed wife, as what our friends tell me. Amen to that.
  2. He prays with me and Kaela. We find time to go to Mass as a family, read the Bible together and instead of listening to FM stations, we listen to Himig Heswita. (Atenista kasi. LOL!)
  3. He spends his free time with us. Maybe because all of his closest friends live so far away from us. However, he can chose to spend time with his co-workers. But then, he loves being with us.
  4. He helps around the house, big time! He takes good care of us, his girls. He even reads stories to the girlie at bed time.
  5. He loves my parents, brothers, relatives and friends. I never heard him say anything nasty about them even if there were times when we were hurt by what they say or do.
  6. He understands me, knows how to comfort me, says the right thing at the right time.
  7. He is not only intelligent and smart (he can talk to anyone about anything) but he also got a big heart.
  8. He is my number 1 fan, my ever loyal supporter even if my endeavour sounds impossible or absurd.
  9. He may not be a fan of Valentine's Days but he loves to surprise me with things and gestures that assure me that I am thought of and very much loved.
  10. He listens to me even though he's tired and can't seem to understand what I am blabbering and getting too excited about.
So there's my list. Where's yours? :)
